Owner / Optometrist Dr. Stephen Cusumano is a 1986 graduate of the University of Missouri-St.Louis College of Optometry.  He practiced optometry in Columbia, Missouri for four years before moving to St. Louis in 1990.  Cusumano Vision Center was formed in 1998 as a result of Dr. Cusumano’s desire to better serve his patients. Dr. Cusumano participates in the community by periodically holding speaking engagements at area schools, and he offers a Vision Savings Program to area First Responders.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Lighthouse for the Blind.   He married  his wife Donna in 1990.  Both are dedicated to rearing their two boys, Alex and Drew, who attend school in the Rockwood School District.  An Eagle Scout, Dr. Cusumano enjoys participating in Boy Scouts with his children.   Along with seeing patients, Dr. Cusumano enjoys listening to music, playing golf, riding motorcycles, and following Rams Football, Blues Hockey and Cardinals Baseball.

Owner / Office Manager Donna began as an optician in 1986 with two private doctors in the St. Louis area.  In 1987, she was hired by a national optical chain as an optician/lab technician where she gained experience cutting optical lenses and working with contact lens patients.  She received certification in 1988 from the American Board of Opticianry and furthered her career by later becoming a Retail Manager for the same company. In 2004, Donna graduated magna cum laude from Maryville University in St. Louis with a degree in Communications and Writing, receiving the Award for Excellence in Communications and membership in the Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society.  She is happy to promote Dr. Cusumano's practice by working with both print and electronic media to inform the community of how Cusumano Vision Center is their best choice for advanced eyecare.  She currently manages the staff and oversees the changes Cusumano Vision Center is implementing to better serve our patients. Donna is married to Dr. Cusumano and enjoys spending time with him and their two boys.  Outside the office, she works as a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics and designs KUSO Jewelry.

Optician Jennifier is the newest addition to our optical team, joining us in September 2009.  Since 2004, she has worked in a busy multi-doctor practice and has served, not only as a dispensing optician, but as a doctor's assistant.  Her range of skills covers technical work that helps Dr. Cusumano know before the exam what existing needs the patient may have that will specialize his examination methods for that patient.  She is fully trained to know how to answer general questions about optometry and questions specific to optical frames, lens materials and contact lenses.  Jennifier has also worked with various medical and optical insurances that our office accepts and can provide information that will help expedite insurance coverage and payments.  Her friendly smile and warm attitude are always a welcome sight when our patients arrive.  We are so glad to have her a part of the Cusumano Vision Center family! Away from the office, Jennifier spends time with her two young children and helps manage a family-owned media company as well as offers her services in foster care as a CASA volunteer.

Administrative Assistant  Melissa is a long-time resident of St. Louis County and brings to our staff an eye for detail and organization. Her resume is long and varied, but includes working both with people and with computer systems. The first thing people notice about Melissa is her warmth and charm.  Our patients know the minute they see her that she is glad they have come by and she will help them to her fullest extent. New to the optical world, she has developed quicker than most newcomers, with a zeal and enthusiasm that is contagious. She credits her upbeat attitude to her strong faith and ministry at her local church. Many of our patients already know her when they arrive due to her community service. We are so blessed to have her on our team! Melissa has been married to her husband Ed for over 20 years.  They have two children who are schooled in the Rockwood School District.
